3D printers all use a small drive gear (wire feeder) to bite the 3D printing filament and clamp the filament together with the bearing. The wire feed wheel has sharp teeth that can bite the 3D printing filament and continue the forward and backward movement of the 3D printing filament by changing the direction of rotation. But if the 3D printing filament is stuck and the wire feed wheel is still rotating, the 3D printing filament will continue to wear and tear, causing it to no longer be bitten by the wire feed wheel. How to deal with the wear of 3D printing filaments?
1. Increase the printing temperature: If you encounter continuous wear of 3D printing filaments, try to increase the extrusion temperature by 5-10 degrees to make the 3D printing filament easier to flow out.
2. Printing speed is too fast: If the problem of 3D printing filament wear still exists after increasing the extrusion temperature, then the next thing we need to do is to reduce the printing speed. Therefore, the extrusion motor does not need to rotate too fast because the extrusion time of the filament becomes longer.
Reducing the speed of the extrusion motor helps to avoid wear of 3D printing filaments.
1. When the nozzle starts, the hot bed is too tight: If the nozzle is too close to the surface of the structure, the plastic in the extruder will not have enough room to come out. These holes at the tip of the nozzle are basically blocked, causing wear of the consumables on the extruder. This problem is easy to identify if the first two layers are not extruded, which may be the problem. Try to adjust the zero point of the Z axis so that the nozzle reaches the hot bed properly. See if the wear problem disappears.
2. Check whether the nozzle is blocked: Increase the temperature of the print, reduce the speed of the print, and adjust the zero point of the Z axis, but it still cannot solve the wear problem of 3D printing consumables. It is very likely that your nozzle is partially blocked.
