1. ABS engineering plastics: ABS plastics have excellent comprehensive properties, excellent strength, flexibility, mechanical processing performance and high heat resistance. It is the choice of plastic for manufacturing engineering machinery parts. At present, some large FDM 3D printers still use ABS plastic as the main 3D printing consumables. The disadvantage of ABS plastic is that it will produce odor during the printing process. Due to the cold shrinkage of ABS plastic, it is easy to separate from the printing platform during the printing process, so a heated base plate and a printing chamber sealed with constantan are required.
2. PLA plastic has gradually been used with the emergence of desktop 3D printers, and it is also a common type of 3D printing consumables. PLA is a biodegradable material made from starch extracted from renewable plant resources such as corn. During the printing process, it produces a candy-like smell, and the heated PLA is more viscous than ABS plastic, and almost no shrinkage or deformation occurs, which is why the printing base plate does not need to be heated when using PLA 3D printing consumables.
